Funny how things work... It's always difficult to track down sources of
inspiration, but here is the (almost ?) full list of credits !
- The original Ken Tyler picture was titled "Re:If you can't go to heaven" and
posted on Jan, 20 (21:48). It features a head which is part metal on the top,
something I found particularly appealing (I'm weird, OK).
- Having another look at Lance Birch's Mr Wirro makes me think that there is no
doubt that it made its way into the Ken creation picture, at least
inconsciously. I remember seeing it and telling myself for a couple of minutes
that I should definitely grow up and buy Max because these were really cool
pictures.
- Dominique Jacquel's Spatch tutorial page features a Millenium Falcon which is
half mesh too :
http://www.mech.ed.ac.uk/~dom/gfx/irtc_art_howto.html. The technique presented
is exactly the one I used (though the wireframe was obtained through Chris
Colefax's mesh macro and I never used Spatch).
- The first computer-generated pictures I ever saw were the ones in the movie
Tron (1982), and there was an animated (and rather crude) faceted "face" that
impressed me a lot and got me started in this 3D thing (though it took me
several years to actually start).

Now, inspiration also comes to me in lots of surprising shapes, including dust
bunnies.
